Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Stepdown Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/14/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Step Down Unit Nurse - Inpatient Acute Care Location This position involves providing specialized nursing care in the step-down unit of an inpatient healthcare facility. The role includes managing patients with cardiac, orthopedic, neurological, surgical, and medical diagnoses, with a focus on maintaining patient stability and safety in a fast-paced environment. Job Details Position Description: All inpatient units based on competency, including ICU, step-down, and medical/surgical. Ratios depend on the unit; Med/Surg is 1:6, Step-down is 1:4/5, ICU is 1-2/3. Required Qualifications: BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association), valid driver's license with current permanent address, minimum of 2 years of experience in similar settings, experience in Med/Surg preferred. Schedule: 12-hour shift days, weekends as scheduled, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Additional Information: The role requires proficiency with monitor reading, titrating drips such as Heparin, Cardizem, Nitro, and Insulin in step-down areas. It involves working with CPAP and BiPAP equipment on all units and vents in ICU. Shifts are scheduled from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM and 7:30 PM to 7:00 AM. No call requirement, but standby may be needed during low census periods. Submission Requirements: Valid license to submit.
