Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Travel RN – ICU | Key Highlights Position: ICU Registered Nurse (Travel) Unit Details 18-bed ICU (all private rooms with negative pressure capability) Typical ratios: 1:2 (CRRT/Organ Donation 1:1; may flex to 1:3 during overflow) Average daily census: 13 patients Requirements Minimum 1 year of ICU/critical care experience Previous travel experience preferred Required Certifications: BLS ACLS NIHSS Must be experienced with: CRRT IABP Mechanical Ventilators Post-code/Therapeutic Hypothermia Vasoactive drips Sedation & Paralytics Central line care/removal Titration of critical care drips Common Patient Population Sepsis Pneumonia COVID CHF/COPD DKA Overdose Renal Failure Neurosurgical patients (lumbar drains, ventriculostomies) General Surgery MI & Vascular patients Shift & Scheduling 12-hour shifts: Days: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM Self-scheduling available Block scheduling considered based on unit needs (not guaranteed) Every other weekend required Floating Required to float to Stepdown and Med-Surg when needed Support Intensivist: 7 AM–7 PM Hospitalist overnight Dedicated RT during the day Pharmacist on unit daily (7:00 AM–4:30 PM) 1–2 PCTs depending on census Charting & Equipment EMR: EPIC Phillips telemetry monitoring ICU nurses interpret rhythm strips Dress Code Royal Blue scrubs No hoodies or sweatshirts Submission Requirements Unexpired Driver's License required with submission BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required Travelers must be willing to float within their skill set Holiday coverage may be required based on unit needs Rare call/standby requirement About Malone Healthcare - Nursing With a commitment to providing a higher standard of service and experience in patient care, Malone Healthcare places expert nurses and allied health professionals in rewarding careers throughout the United States.
