Key Responsibilities As a Litigation Legal Assistant, you will play a vital role in managing cases from the filing of a lawsuit through trial and resolution. Responsibilities include: Manage plaintiff personal injury litigation files from lawsuit filing through case resolution while maintaining organized electronic files. Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials. Prepare trial notebooks, exhibit lists, witness subpoenas, and other trial materials. Draft, format, proofread, and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and discovery responses under attorney supervision. Electronically file documents in Texas state and federal courts while tracking litigation deadlines, court settings, and discovery schedules. Serve as a professional and compassionate point of contact for clients, medical providers, opposing counsel, experts, and court personnel. Order, track, and organize medical, billing, and insurance records, including managing Texas Civil Practice & Remedies Code §18.001 affidavits. Support attorneys in maintaining an organized, trial-ready caseload while ensuring accuracy and compliance throughout the litigation process. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have: 2–3+ years of experience handling plaintiff personal injury litigation in Texas. Experience assisting attorneys with active litigation and trial preparation. Working knowledge of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and Texas court filing procedures. Experience using Texas state and federal e-filing systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and legal case management software. Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail. The ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced litigation environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
