Shift: Sunday to Thursday - 3rd Shift - 11:00 PM to 07:00 AM

Pay Rate: $22 per hour + Additional $2 per hour for time spent working in freezer or cold room conditions.

Summary:

The Packaging Technician / Packaging Associate is responsible for performing manual and automated assembly, manufacturing, filling, packaging, and labeling of pharmaceutical/clinical products in a highly regulated environment. The role requires strict adherence to cGMP, SOPs, customer requirements, safety standards, and quality specifications. The technician performs in-process and AQL inspections, supports packaging job start-up and closure, completes computer-related tasks, and participates in cleaning and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual or automated assembly, manufacturing, filling, packaging, and labeling of pharmaceutical products.
• Follow cGMPs, SOPs, customer requirements, and safety regulations.
• Perform in-process inspections, AQL inspections, and other quality-related tasks.
• Interpret batch paperwork and 2D diagrams to ensure correct product assembly.
• Perform computer-related tasks associated with packaging operations.
• Participate in packaging job start-up and closure activities.
• Clean and maintain production and packaging areas.
• Work in Primary, Secondary, Refrigerated (2-8°C), and Frozen (-20°C) packaging environments.
• Participate actively in Practical Process Improvement (PPI) initiatives.
• Work independently and collaboratively to complete assigned production tasks.
• Take initiative, meet commitments, and adapt to changing business requirements.
• Accept and apply feedback related to corrective and preventive actions.
• Support overtime and other duties as required by business needs.

Required Skills

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, clinical supply, manufacturing, packaging, or other regulated environments is beneficial.
• Knowledge of cGMP, SOPs, quality standards, and safety procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately.
• Good hand-eye coordination, dexterity, and fine motor skills.
• Basic mathematical skills, including counting, fractions, percentages, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to interpret 2D diagrams and batch documentation.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
• Good time-management and organizational skills.
• Ability to learn from feedback and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Ability to work in hot/cold, refrigerated, and frozen environments.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and perform repetitive hand/foot movements for extended periods.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. frequently.
• Ability to use both hands for repetitive actions, grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
• Ability to meet required vision standards, including distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• Ability to obtain required Task Competency Assessments (TCA).
• Ability to comply with required PPE certifications, including PAPR, N-95, and safety glasses.
