Lab Technician - 1st Shift

Stratas Foods LLC is the leading supplier of fats and oils to the Foodservice, Food Ingredients, and Retail Private Label markets in North America and is a producer of quality bulk and packaged dressings, mayonnaise, and sauces. Formed in October 2008 as a 50/50 joint venture between ACH Food Companies and Archer Daniels Midland, the company operates manufacturing facilities in Dallas, Houston, Decatur, Quincy, Englewood, Hillside, Fresno, Nashville, and Valdosta, with corporate offices in Memphis. Key Responsibilities Prioritize and test samples as they arrive in the laboratory. Taste samples for product evaluation. Perform line checks of packaging quality assurance. Notify management when test results indicate that corrective action is necessary. Complete analytical testing and paperwork in a timely manner. Conduct finished product and incoming material testing. Perform cleaning and GMP inspections. Learn new procedures as necessary. Develop a thorough understanding of laboratory processes and procedures. Attend all training and safety meetings as scheduled. Store production retains. Assist in other departments as needed and directed by management. Collaborate closely with onsite teams and participate in onsite meetings to drive departmental objectives. Work effectively in a fast‑paced environment. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or bachelor’s degree in a science‑related field preferred. Experience: Three (3) years of laboratory experience preferred. Equipment/Software Skills: Basic data entry skills required. Physical Requirements Includes sitting, walking, climbing, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Must be able to stand for long periods, work in small spaces, and handle heights and ladders. Sensory Requirements Good listening, public speaking, and sensory testing skills. Must prioritize auditory information and differentiate product issues by taste, smell, or sight. Mental/Reasoning Requirements Strong organizational and decision‑making skills. Must multitask and possess analytical and problem‑solving abilities suitable for a quick‑paced environment.
