Job Description

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Rewind Operator to join our production team. The Rewind Operator is responsible for setting up and operating rewind equipment, staging materials and tooling for efficient workflow, and ensuring finished products meet quality standards. This position also supports quality control efforts within the pressroom and assists with equipment maintenance and other production-related tasks as directed by management.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor rewind machinery to ensure efficient production.
• Review job specifications and customer requirements to understand production parameters.
• Determine and prepare material quantities needed for assigned jobs.
• Align, configure, and adjust machinery for optimal performance.
• Inspect production samples throughout runs to verify quality standards are met.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve minor machine issues; perform basic repairs as needed.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on rewind equipment.
• Complete and submit production reports, including daily output totals.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Assist with quality control processes in the pressroom.
• Support machine operations, maintenance activities, and other production tasks as assigned by supervisors.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to operate, or quickly learn to operate, rewind machinery and related equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing, production, or warehouse experience required.
• Experience operating rewind machinery preferred.
• Experience in the narrow web printing industry preferred.
• Vocational or technical training is a plus; on-the-job training will be provided.
• Previous experience in a similar production environment preferred.
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to safely operate production and printing equipment.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, and kneeling.
• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and around moving machinery.
