The MT-BC (Music Therapist-Board Certified) will deliver therapeutic interventions through music to diverse client populations primarily in rehabilitation centers, older adult communities, group homes for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), day centers for IDD, private practice, memory care, assisted living, and nursing homes. This role involves both individual and group therapy sessions, managing a caseload of 10-20 clients, and collaborating with healthcare teams to support patients’ emotional, cognitive, and physical well-being. There are opportunities for professional growth and involvement in research to advance clinical practice.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ needs and develop individualized treatment plans
- Conduct one-on-one and group music therapy sessions
- Implement music interventions tailored to client goals and abilities
- Document client progress and update treatment plans as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care
- Maintain caseload of 10-20 clients across various therapeutic settings
- Facilitate group therapy sessions promoting social and emotional development
Preferred Qualifications
- Entry-level experience in music therapy
- Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy or related field
- Board Certification in Music Therapy (MT-BC)
- Knowledge of music therapy techniques and clinical documentation
- Skills in patient assessment and treatment planning
- Strong empathy, critical thinking, and time management abilities
$40 per hour
