Branch Manager - Retail Banking

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Branch Manager – Retail Banking for a direct-hire opportunity leading a full-service banking branch in Hayward, CA. This role is ideal for a proven retail banking leader who can build high-performing teams, grow deposits and revenue, strengthen customer relationships, and maintain a strong culture of compliance and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead daily branch operations, including sales, service, staffing, compliance, cash management, security, and risk controls.
- Coach, develop, schedule, and evaluate branch employees to support individual and branch performance goals.
- Drive new account growth, deposit growth, referrals, cross-selling activity, and business-development results.
- Monitor sales performance, key performance indicators, audit readiness, and operational controls.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, local businesses, community partners, and internal departments.
- Resolve escalated customer concerns professionally while ensuring a positive customer experience.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary: $74,880 to $107,525 annually, depending on experience.
- Job Type: Direct hire.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Lead a full-service retail banking branch with responsibility for operations, sales, service, staffing, and compliance.
- Manage deposit growth, new accounts, referrals, customer relationships, and business-development initiatives.
- Coach and develop branch employees to meet performance goals and deliver strong customer service.
- Maintain audit readiness, internal controls, operational standards, and regulatory compliance.

- More than four years of banking and supervisory experience required.
- Current or recent retail banking Branch Manager experience required.
- Demonstrated success meeting sales goals, KPIs, deposit growth, and business-development objectives.
- Experience coaching employees, managing performance, and developing branch teams.
- Strong knowledge of branch operations, internal controls, audits, cash handling, security, and banking compliance.
- Understanding of consumer banking and business banking products and services.
- Proficiency with core banking systems and Microsoft Office.
- Strong leadership, communication, judgment, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Stable employment history and established ties to the surrounding business community.

Preferred Qualifications

- Prior success building relationships with local businesses, community organizations, and professional networks.
- Experience partnering with internal banking teams to deliver lending, deposit, treasury, or other financial solutions.
- Strong record of improving branch performance, employee engagement, customer retention, and operational audit results.
