This role will be based in the Stamford, CT office and work alongside engineering and operations teams to support real-time broadcast workflows, monitor system health, and assist in troubleshooting and system setup. Structured training will be provided, but this role requires initiative and the ability to quickly build confidence in fast-paced, live environments. The ideal candidate brings a base of broadcast knowledge, fluency in cloud workflows, and the ability to learn and adapt as our platforms evolve. The ideal candidate for this role appreciates the discipline and precision of traditional broadcast, while embracing the agility and innovation of modern streaming; someone who sees both worlds not as separate, but as converging.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport live broadcast operations across control rooms, cloud systems, and distribution platformsMonitor signal flow, stream health, and system performance during live eventsAssist with setup, configuration, testing, and validation of broadcast and media systemsTroubleshoot issues in real time and escalate clearly and efficientlyFollow established operational procedures while adapting to new tools and workflowsCollaborate with engineering, production, and operations teams to support live event executionContribute to documentation, process improvement, and knowledge sharingPerform system updates, maintenance, and testing to ensure platform stability and readinessQualifications (Must-Have)5+ years of hands-on experience in broadcast, media operations, or live streaming environments, with a genuine passion for the spaceFamiliarity with signal flow concepts (video, audio, or IP-based workflows)Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical processesAbility to learn new systems and tools quicklyComfortable working in time-sensitive, live-event environmentsStrong communication skills and a team-oriented mindsetPreferred ExperienceExperience with Live Linear Playout System (AMPP, Amagi, Imagine…etc.)Experience with SRT-based signal routing and distribution platforms (Netinsight, Techex, Haivision Gateway or similar)Familiarity with closed captioning workflows in broadcast environments, including CEA-608/708 standards and AI-driven captioning services (EEG, AWS Transcribe, Verbit, or similar)Basic experience with Linux or command-line toolsHands-on experience with AWS (EC2, IAM, networking basics); familiarity with AWS Media Services a strong plusExperience with OTT/streaming quality monitoring platforms (TagVS, Conviva, NPAW, or similar)Training & DevelopmentStructured onboarding with hands-on system training Direct mentorship from engineering and operations staff Exposure to modern cloud-based and IP-based broadcast workflows Opportunity to take on increased responsibility as proficiency growsSuccess in this Role Looks LikeBuilding confidence and reliability in live broadcast environmentsDemonstrating strong situational awareness during live event supportIdentifying, troubleshooting, and escalating issues effectivelyGrowing from task-based support into more independent operational ownershipContributing to consistent, high-quality execution of live broadcastsCBS Sports, a year-round leader in cross-platform sports coverage, broadcasts a portfolio of events on the CBS Television Network, including THE NFL ON CBS; college football, including the Big Ten ON CBS; college basketball, including the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship; golf, including The Masters®, PGA Championship and PGA TOUR; soccer, including the UEFA Champions League and NWSL; and CBS SPORTS SPECTACULAR. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies.
