General Description of Position : Assist skilled craft workers in performing their assigned duties.

Essential functions and responsibilities :

• Tend pumps, compressors, and generators to provide power to the jobsite
  
• Load and unload trucks and haul materials
• Erect temporary structures
• Measure distances for areas to be graded, or on which to erect structures
• Position, join, and seal structural compounds
• Performs a variety of tasks involving dexterous use of hands and tools such as sawing, erecting and dismantling scaffolding, shoring and braces, mounting pipe hangers, cutting, and attaching insulation material, etc.
• Places and vibrates freshly poured concrete.
• Mops, brushes or spreads paint or bituminous compounds over services and applies caulking compound by hand or with caulking gun to seal surfaces.
• Lifts, carries and holds building materials and supplies, levels earth to fine grade using pick and shovel and measures distances from grade stakes, drives stakes and stretches tight line
• Grinds, sands and polishes surfaces such as concrete or wood
• Cleans tools, equipment, materials and work area
• Operate hand and power tools
• Perform job clean-up
• When not performing the above essential duties and responsibilities, may assist in other operations as designated by the supervisor

Specific Equipment and Materials to be used : Carpenter’s hand tools, small/medium/large power tools, bench tools (saw, drill, grinder), concrete saw, chipper, sander.

Work environment/:   The work environment and physical demands described here are representative of those the employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
