About the Role The Patient Account Representative/Billing Specialist will serve as the primary patient-facing billing resource. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service byassistingpatients with billing and insurance-related questions, processingpaymentsto payoff account balances, resolving account concerns, and supporting the daily financial operations of the center. In addition toassistingpatients in personby addressing billing concerns, this individual will also support CIVIE’s centralized Billing Support team by handling inbound billing calls for Heartland Radiology and other assigned clients, as well as completingadditionalremote billing and administrative duties as assigned. This position playsan important rolein creating a positive patient experience while ensuringaccurate,timely, and professional handling of patient financial services. What You’ll Do On-Site Patient Financial Services Serve as the primary billing representative for patients visiting the imaging center Assistpatients with billing questions, account balances, statements, and payment options Establish payment plansin accordance withcompany policies Coordinate with carriers toassistin explaininginsurance benefits, deductibles, copays, coinsurance, and patientfinancial responsibility Resolve patient billing concerns professionally and compassionately Maintain a welcoming and professional presence whenassistingpatients Billing & Insurance Support Reach out to carriers toassistpatients with insurance-related questions and claim status inquiries Verify insurance eligibility and patient demographic information Submit, update, and refile insurance claims whenappropriate Research and resolve billing discrepancies Work collaboratively with coding, billing, insurance, and revenue cycle teams to resolve complex account issues Assistwith attorney balance verification andreductionrequests as needed Support medical billing, coding, and revenue cycle functions when applicable Call Center Support Answer inbound billing calls for Heartland Radiology and other CIVIE clients Handle inbound and outbound patient communications professionally and efficiently Clearly explain account status, insurance processing, and payment options Escalate complex billing concerns appropriately Document all patient interactions accurately within company systems Administrative Support Maintainaccuratepatientaccountdocumentation Perform assigned administrative and operational support tasks Assistleadership with special projects and other remote duties as assigned Support workflow improvements and departmental initiatives Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and all company privacy and security policies Required Experience Bilingual (English/Spanish) High School Diploma or GED Minimum of two (2) years of experience in healthcare customer service, patient accounts, or medical billing Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational and time-management abilities Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills Proficiencywith Microsoft Office and healthcare softwareapplications Professional appearance and demeanor Preferred Qualifications Experience in Radiology Billing or Medical Billing Knowledge of medical terminology Experience with insurance verification, claims processing, and revenue cycle management Working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding Experience withpatient collections and payment plans What We’re Looking For The successful candidate is someone who: Enjoysworking directly with patients and providing exceptional customer service Demonstrates empathy, professionalism, and patience during difficult financial conversations Is detail-oriented and committed toaccuracy Can work independently while collaborating effectively with remote teammates Iscomfortable learningnew technologyand adapting to changing workflows Maintains confidentiality and professionalism at all times Takes initiative and is willing toassistwherever operational needs arise Physical & Work Environment On-sitepositionlocatedat Heartland Radiology in Grand Island, Nebraska Frequent interaction with patients, physicians’ offices, insurance companies, and remote CIVIE team members Standard business hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Business casual attirerequired We Offer Paid vacation, sick time, personal time and holidays QuarterlyUberEatsvoucher Monthly Fringe benefits Education and professional development stipend Health, dental, and vision benefits, with employer HSA contribution Long-term, short-term, and life insurances 401(k) with company match & profit sharing The pay range for this position is $22.00-$25.00/hour.
