Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Chemo Certified Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: State or Compact license required Certifications: BLS, Chemo (ONS/ONCC) Must-Have: Travel experience preferred Previous charge experience preferred Charting experience with Epic required Description: Seeking a Registered Nurse specialized in Oncology. The role involves administering chemotherapy and immunotherapy. The patient population includes adults with various cancer diagnoses as well as hematology malignant and non-malignant conditions. Nurses will be responsible for managing and accessing ports. Experience with administering blood products and chemotherapy is necessary. Nurses will monitor patients for side effects of treatments. Patient education and support will be a key responsibility. Nurses should be comfortable managing and disposing of cytotoxic spills. The environment requires adherence to neutropenic precautions and monitoring acute side effects. The ability to recognize abnormal lab values is essential. Familiarity with side effects management, including nausea and vomiting, is required. Nurses must have skills in IV starts, PICC line care, and phlebotomy. The position requires effective communication with interdisciplinary teams. The staff will provide social services and pharmacy support to the patients. Candidates must be flexible with scheduling and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Comprehensive knowledge of various cancer types and treatments is crucial for success in this role.
