A confidential industrial employer is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and bulk-handling systems. This role ensures safe and reliable operation of conveying systems, motors, cranes, loaders, and other heavy industrial equipment. The technician will also support cargo-handling activities and collaborate with operations teams to maintain consistent workflow and equipment readiness.

Key responsibilities include diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing bulk material-handling equipment (e.g., conveyors, pulleys, motors, cranes). The technician will assist in positioning, installing, or transporting machinery and mechanical components. They will perform stick welding, cutting-torch operations, fabrication tasks, and mechanical alignment. The technician will secure equipment using bolts, rivets, welding, or other fastening methods. They will lubricate, adjust, and inspect moving parts, safety guards, and safety devices. The technician will operate tools and heavy equipment including torches, welders, forklifts, hand tools, and electric meters. They will complete preventive maintenance tasks, inspections, lubrication, and functional testing. The technician will support bulk cargo or vessel discharge operations when required.

Education and experience required include a high school diploma or GED, minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in bulk terminals, ports, manufacturing, or refinery settings. Hands-on experience with conveying systems, bulk-handling equipment, welding, fabrication, and mechanical troubleshooting is necessary.

Skills and technical knowledge include strong mechanical aptitude with experience in electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. The technician must be able to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals. They should be skilled with diagnostic tools, precision measurement instruments, and maintenance repair practices. Understanding of heavy equipment operations and bulk-handling processes is essential.

Work environment and conditions require the ability to work in outdoor/industrial environments (heat, cold, dust, noise). Flexibility for shift work, weekends, holidays, overtime, and emergency call-ins is necessary. The technician must demonstrate reliability and the ability to work independently or within a team. A strong commitment to safety and adherence to operational procedures is required.

Licenses and clearances include a valid driver's license, the ability to obtain a TWIC card, and passing background screening, drug test, and physical (if required).

Preferred qualifications include experience troubleshooting dozers, excavators, loaders, forklifts, and other heavy machinery. Familiarity with CMMS systems and digital maintenance reporting is also beneficial. The ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of safety and compliance is advantageous.
