Registered Nurse Telemetry

Job Summary:
Provides safe, high-quality nursing care for telemetry patients by applying evidence-based practices within a relationship-centered care model. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive patient management and education.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and evaluate patient conditions, utilizing critical thinking to develop and modify individualized care plans.
• Deliver nursing interventions rooted in research, organizational standards, and the nursing process to meet patient needs.
• Educate patients and caregivers on their care plans, health promotion, and disease prevention strategies.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and patient-centered care.
• Maintain a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols, identifying potential hazards, and escalating issues promptly.
• Perform charge nurse duties as assigned, oversee resource utilization, and facilitate patient throughput.

Qualifications:

• Valid NYS RN license with active BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in telemetry or medical-surgical units; minimum 1 year travel experience preferred for travel positions.
• Demonstrate proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system; telemetry, ventilator, and TR Tele experience highly preferred.
• Hold at least an Associate degree in Nursing; BSN preferred, with relevant experience or active BSN program enrollment.
• Demonstrate advanced skills in cardiac monitoring, patient education, and clinical safety protocols.
