The Plug is seeking a meticulous and organized Inventory Lead to join our Inventory Team in New Buffalo, MI. Your Mission: As an Inventory Lead , you’ll ensure that our New Buffalo location is always stocked with the best products. You’ll manage inventory levels, maintain accurate records, and work closely with suppliers to ensure we have what our customers want. Your role is critical in making sure The Plug operates smoothly and efficiently. This role reports first to the Inventory Manager and second to the Store Manager. What You’ll Do: Inventory Support: Help maintain optimal inventory levels and conduct regular counts to keep our stock accurate. Work with the Inventory Manager to spot and fix any discrepancies using our tracking software. Product Flow: Receive deliveries like a pro – counting everything that comes in, making sure it’s all good quality, and getting it logged correctly in our system. Keep the vault and storage areas organized and clean. Compliance Champion: Follow all state and local regulations for handling inventory. Help maintain accurate METRC records and proper documentation for everything that moves through our shop. System Savvy: Use our inventory management software to track products and help generate reports. Keep an eye on what’s selling and what’s not, sharing insights with the Inventory Manager. Team Player: Work closely with budtenders to understand what products customers are loving. Help train new team members on inventory procedures when needed. Support the sales floor during busy times. Quality Control: Help maintain product quality by monitoring storage conditions, expiration dates, and packaging integrity. Alert the Inventory Manager to any issues that need attention. Loss Prevention: Follow and help enforce inventory control procedures to prevent loss. Participate in regular audits and help identify areas for improvement. Customer Care: Jump in to help customers when needed, especially with product availability questions. Help address any product quality concerns that come up. Process Pro: Follow our inventory procedures and suggest ways to make them better. Help keep everything running smooth and efficient. What You’ll Need: Experience: 2-4 years of experience in inventory management or a similar role. Experience in the cannabis industry is highly preferred. Organizational Skills: Impeccable organizational skills to manage inventory efficiently and accurately. Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed decisions. Attention to detail is a must. Tech Proficiency: Familiarity with inventory management software, METRC, and basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Excel, Word). Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers, team members, and customers. Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of local and state cannabis retail laws and regulations, particularly those related to inventory management. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions quickly and efficiently. Customer Focus: A commitment to providing excellent customer service and ensuring customer satisfaction. Age & ID: Must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid driver’s license or state ID. Background Check: Must pass all required background checks. Compensation: Competitive hourly wage based on experience ranging from $17-$20.
