Physical Therapist Part-time and Per Diem - Berkshire Rehabilitation & Skilled Care CenterWe are seeking a dynamic and caring Physical Therapist to join our per diem team at Berkshire Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center, an award-winning skilled nursing facility in Sandisfield.We are a 57-bed all-male nursing home with a large veteran population and a majority of long-term stay residents. Up to $55 an hour.Job Summary:As a Physical Therapist, you will provide patient/resident assessment, care planning, direct treatment, and consultation to a general rehab caseload. You will also participate in the clinical team process, providing teaching and training to caregiver staff and supervising other therapists, assistants, aides, and students as required.Responsibilities:Screen patients/residentsEvaluate patients/residents and develop appropriate care plansProvide direct resident treatment in accordance with an established plan of careConsult with and train patients, residents, and caregiversMonitor efficiencies on an ongoing basis in collaboration with supervisorDocument activities according to the company's clinical documentation system on a timely basisDemonstrate consistent knowledge and application of Medicare and other reimbursement regulationsCommunicate effectively with patients, residents, team members, customers, and supervisorParticipate in clinical program development and implementationParticipate in the training and orientation of other staff, students, and volunteersParticipate in the interview process for new staffParticipate in census building and marketing activitiesParticipate in quality improvement activitiesRequirements:Bachelor of Science Degree, Master of Science or Doctoral degree in Physical TherapyAppropriate licensing requirements by individual states must be maintainedAbility to function effectively in multi-faceted systems and to interact effectively with all levels of staff and customersStrong oral and written communication skillsStrong organizational and analytical skillsAbility to perform documentation needs, manipulations of equipment, and direct patient careRequires intense attention and concentrationAbility to cope with periodic stress associated with changing census and staffing demandsDemonstrated ability to prioritize and manage time effectively for self and othersAbility to deal with a wide range of personality types, ages, and diverse cultural backgroundsAbility to articulate and comprehend the English languageStanding and walking for significant amounts of time is necessaryWe are an equal opportunity employer that values diversity at all levels.
