Diesel Mechanic

A well‑established commercial diesel trucking operation in Hollywood, Florida is seeking an experienced and people‑oriented Hands‑on Shop Foremen to lead a team of three diesel technicians. This role is ideal for a highly skilled diesel technician or lead tech who is ready to advance into management and take ownership of a growing service department. The majority of their fleet are straight trucks in Class 7 (Freightliners, International and Hino.)
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Shop Manager will oversee daily shop operations, ensure high-quality repair standards, drive productivity, and maintain strong relationships with both internal staff and external customers.RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise, coach, and support a team of 3 diesel technicians, ensuring efficiency and professional growth. Conduct performance evaluations, set expectations, and promote a positive, safety‑focused work culture. Provide technical guidance when needed (troubleshooting & diagnostic support). Service Operations Management Oversee day‑to‑day shop workflow, repair scheduling, and technician assignments. Ensure all repairs meet quality, safety, and compliance standards. Monitor productivity, turnaround times, and shop KPIs. Maintain a clean, organized, and well‑equipped service environment. Ability to work a flexible work schedule.QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of experience as a diesel technician or service manager in heavy‑duty trucks, commercial fleets, or similar. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, diagnostics, drivetrains, emissions systems, and electrical components. Proven ability to lead or mentor technicians (formal management experience preferred but not required). Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
