Vascular Technologist Position

This Vascular Technologist position is based in Greenville, North Carolina, a welcoming and energetic community in the heart of eastern North Carolina. Greenville offers the best of a college town environment with the presence of a major university, giving the city a dynamic blend of cultural events, athletic games, and educational opportunities. Residents enjoy a vibrant downtown with locally owned restaurants, cafes, and breweries, plus galleries, live music, and seasonal festivals that create a lively social atmosphere. Outdoor enthusiasts can take advantage of the scenic Tar River and its greenway system, perfect for biking, walking, and kayaking. Parks and recreation areas throughout the city provide accessible spaces for sports, family activities, and relaxation. Greenville's cost of living is typically more affordable than many larger metropolitan areas, making it easier to enjoy comfortable housing, short commutes, and a balanced lifestyle. The region also offers convenient access to coastal North Carolina, with beaches and coastal towns just a drive away for weekend getaways. You will join a major regional referral medical center that serves as a hub for advanced care in eastern North Carolina. The hospital is a high-acuity, Level I Trauma teaching facility known for its comprehensive cardiovascular and surgical services and its commitment to quality, safety, and evidence-based practice. As part of a large and well-established health system, the hospital provides a robust, team-oriented environment where collaboration between technologists, physicians, nurses, and other clinicians is strongly supported. The institution's reputation and academic affiliation make this role an excellent opportunity to build your resume and develop your career in vascular technology. The vascular laboratory supports a full spectrum of inpatient and outpatient vascular services. As a Vascular Technologist, you will perform the complete range of non-invasive vascular studies, including carotid and vertebral duplex imaging, upper and lower extremity arterial and venous studies, abdominal aorta and visceral vessel evaluations, graft and stent surveillance, and physiologic testing with segmental pressures and waveform analysis. You will work closely with vascular surgeons, cardiologists, neurologists, and other specialists, providing essential diagnostic information that directly influences patient management, surgical planning, and interventional procedures. A typical day may include: Coordinating scheduled outpatient studies and prioritizing inpatient and emergent exams Performing comprehensive vascular ultrasound examinations according to established lab protocols and national standards Optimizing images and ensuring accurate measurements, doppler assessments, and waveforms Recognizing critical findings such as acute deep vein thrombosis, significant carotid stenosis, or rapidly expanding aneurysms and promptly communicating results to the appropriate provider Documenting procedures and findings thoroughly within the EMR and structured reporting systems Collaborating with physicians during complex or urgent cases and participating in multidisciplinary discussions when needed Contributing to quality assurance activities, protocol updates, and ongoing lab accreditation efforts You can expect to work with modern ultrasound equipment and digital imaging systems in a lab environment that emphasizes standardization, accuracy, and timeliness. Patient volumes are robust, providing exposure to a wide variety of vascular conditions across diverse age groups and backgrounds. Staffing models are designed to support safe and effective workflow, and you will be part of a team of experienced technologists and clinicians who share knowledge and support each other's professional growth. Shift options may include day, evening, or a combination of scheduled shifts, with the possibility of weekend or on-call responsibilities to cover urgent and emergent vascular needs. The hospital's size and academic environment allow for opportunities to refine your skills, gain experience with complex cases, and potentially participate in teaching or mentoring activities for students and new technologists. This role is ideal for an RVT who wants to practice at the top of their scope in a comprehensive vascular lab, while enjoying the lifestyle benefits of living in Greenville. The combination of an engaging community, a supportive medical environment, and high-acuity, meaningful vascular work makes this position a strong fit for technologists looking to advance their careers.
