Job Description

The inspector role involves interpreting and evaluating inspection results for welding fit-up and filler metal placement in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and specifications. The inspector will be responsible for setting up and calibrating all testing equipment, using visual inspection techniques (VT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) to perform non-destructive tests to identify errors or defects in products. Additionally, the inspector will oversee welder qualification tests and evaluate welder performance.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and evaluate inspection results for welding fit-up and filler metal placement.

• Set up and calibrate all testing equipment.

• Conduct visual inspection techniques (VT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT).

• Perform non-destructive tests to identify errors or defects in products.

• Oversee welder qualification tests and evaluate welder performance.

• Perform visual weld inspections and nondestructive inspections for acceptance or rejection according to applicable codes, procedures, or instructions.

• Contribute to meeting Quality and Production goals.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in welding inspection and non-destructive testing (NDT).

• Certification as a Certified Welding Inspector (AWS-CWI).

• Basic computer skills, knowledgeable in Microsoft Office products.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum education of a high school diploma or GED required.

• Current Certification in MT, UT (in accordance with ASNT-TC-1A) is a plus.

• Training can be provided to obtain certification.

Work Environment

The position is based in a non-climate controlled manufacturing facility at the Yukon Site. The role is scheduled for the night shift from 4:30 am to 2:30 am, with a $2.50 differential.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tulsa, OK.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
