Full Time Technical San Antonio, TX, US Salary Range: $16.00 To $18.00 Hourly

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reports To: Service Manager FLSA Status: Non-exempt Prepared By: HR Summary Performs basic maintenance functions on vehicles. Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Performs work as outlined on repair order received from group leader or dispatcher with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards. Drains oil from crankcase and refills with required amount of oil. Replaces oil, air filters, dust filters, flushes and performs other light service items. Inspects vehicle fluid levels, replaces or replenishes as necessary. Checks tire pressure, adds air if needed and rotates tires. Lubricates moving parts with specified lubricant. Performs multi-point vehicle inspections to ensure accuracy. Estimates cost for additional repairs needed. Communicates with Parts Department to obtain needed parts. Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor. Documents all repairs and maintenance on vehicles through DMS systems. Performs state inspections. Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs as assigned by service manager. Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins. Ensures that customers’ cars are kept clean. Notifies Service Advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle. Keeps shop area neat and clean. Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received. Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc. Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner. Education and/or Experience 11 th grade high school education One to three months related experience and/or training. Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Mathematical Skills Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
