Veterans encouraged to apply Position: Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician The Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician will be responsible for performing licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance inspections, light and advanced repairs, advanced mechanical/hydraulic/electrical and electronic diagnostics, and other duties as assigned. Heavily relied upon for advanced diagnostics and triage of complicated repairs by Mobile Diesel Technician I/II. Considered the Lead on jobsites by customers and Technicians. Functions as a consultant on the customer's behalf. A successful Sr Mobile Diesel Technician complies with all company policies and achieves high level performance metrics. Responsibilities Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. Perform minor adjustments and repairs on various truck equipment, including Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Diesel steering systems, Engines (gas & diesel), Transmissions (manual & automatic), Clutches, Differentials, etc. Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment including Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Air conditioning systems, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Diesel steering systems, Engines (gas & diesel), Transmissions (manual & automatic), Clutches, Differentials, etc. Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using handheld computers and pressure gauges. Road‑test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation. Identify problems, determine accuracy of information, and evaluate alternatives using sound judgment. Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on the company‑issued service truck, performing periodic reconciliation. Maintain and operate the company‑issued service vehicle, conducting safety checks, and pre‑/post‑trip inspections. Work with and listen effectively to clients to assess needs, provide information, resolve problems, and satisfy expectations. Manage concurrent tasks, prioritizing work activities and time allocations. Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts and jacks. Document as per company standards, upload pictures of work performed, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders (“RO”) using the company‑issued iOS device and TRAIT application. Accurately complete DOT and other required forms promptly. Work independently and manage one's daily schedule. Maintain high productivity, working within or close to standard repair times. Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as needed for repairs. Communicate with management and support via email or phone to obtain approvals on repair estimates, retrieve purchase order numbers, or discuss RO findings. Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies and federal regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT. Requirements High School Diploma or GED and at least 3 years of experience in a related field. Candidates may also have additional degrees, certifications, or 5 years of experience. At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment. Possess and supply a set of hand tools required for job duties. OEM training and certifications are preferred. Participate in and complete all company‑required training. Must successfully complete a DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment. Must have a current and valid DOT medical card with at least 4 months remaining, or a DOT physical if less than 4 months. Must be at least 21 years old. Valid driver's license required; capable of obtaining and maintaining a Driver Qualification File. Compensation Hourly pay rate ranges from $32.26 to $48.41 per hour. The base rate may vary based on location and candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities.
