Sr. Mobile Diesel Mechanic

Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician Senior technician responsible for performing licensed DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, light and advanced repairs, diagnostics, and other duties as assigned. Duties Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (“PM”), DOT inspections and follow up repairs on light, medium and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. Perform minor adjustment and repair on various truck equipment: electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters, alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials, etc. Diagnose, adjust and repair truck equipment including electrical, brake, cooling, air‑conditioning, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines (gas and diesel), transmissions, clutches, differentials, etc. Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges. Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation. Identify problems, determine accuracy and relevance of information, and generate and evaluate alternatives using sound judgment. Independently manage parts inventory and equipment provided on company‑issued service truck and perform periodic reconciliation. Maintain and operate company‑issued service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections. Work with and listen effectively to clients to assess needs, resolve problems and satisfy expectations. Manage concurrent assigned tasks, prioritise work‑related activities and time allocations. Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts and jacks. Document work per company standards and upload pictures, parts used and findings to Repair Order using iOS device and TRAIT application. Accurately complete DOT forms and other documentation in a timely fashion. Work independently and manage own daily schedule. Maintain a high level of productivity and adhere to standard repair times. Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as necessary. Communicate with management and support team via email or phone for approvals and purchase orders. Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT). Maintain company‑issued service truck and conduct safety checks and daily pre‑post trip inspections. Requirements High School Diploma or GED and at least 3 years of experience in a related field; alternative combinations include a higher degree or more experience (e.g., 5 years). At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment. Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties. Participate in and complete all company‑required training. Candidate must successfully complete DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical; a valid DOT medical card with more than four months remaining may be submitted instead. Candidate must be at least 21 years old. Valid driver’s license and safe driving record; must be able to obtain and maintain a Driver Qualification File. OEM training and certifications are preferred.
