Opportunity:

Respiratory Therapist - Respiratory Therapy

Job Details:

• Work combination of day shifts (6:00 AM - 6:00 PM) and night shifts (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM)
• Variable shifts are rare and discussed with traveler prior to schedule changes
• Weekend coverage required approximately every 3rd weekend depending on staffing needs
• Holiday requirements: 2 out of 3 winter holidays, every other holiday coverage otherwise
• Handle 20-25 treatments per day with typically 2 respiratory therapists per shift
• Cover inpatient, emergency room, ICU, medical-surgical floors, and facility clinic emergencies
• Work primarily with adult patients, minimal pediatric and neonatal cases
• May be asked to cover high-risk deliveries (very low frequency)
• Perform basic respiratory therapies, ABGs, EKGs, BiPAP/CPAP management, and ventilator care
• Assist with intubations and insert king airways in emergency situations
• Complete charge verification and timely charting in Cerner system
• Must have experience with ventilators, BiPAP, basic respiratory treatments, EKGs, and intubation assistance
• Previous traveler experience preferred with strong teamwork skills
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NRP, PALS (AHA), RRT via NBRC
• Dress code requires dark green scrubs
• Work with various equipment including PB980, PB840, SurvoU, LTV1200, Hamilton ventilators, V60 BiPAP/CPAP, Resmed units, and Optiflow high flow systems
• 3-day department orientation includes equipment training and shadowing
• Must clock in and out at facility
• Cannot have worked for this healthcare organization within 6 months prior to submission

This medical center provides comprehensive respiratory therapy services across multiple departments including inpatient units, emergency department, intensive care, and medical-surgical floors. The facility maintains 24/7 hospitalist coverage with intensivist support during the day and eICU capabilities for overnight needs. The respiratory therapy department emphasizes teamwork and collaborative care, equipped with modern ventilatory support systems and advanced respiratory equipment to serve patients across all age groups.
