Quality Control Technician

Quality Control TechnicianThe Client Aerospace Additive Design and Manufacturing (ADAM) team is seeking a Quality Control Technician for its Monroe, NC facility. In this hands-on inspection role, you will perform visual, mechanical, and coordinate measuring machine (CMM) inspections to verify product conformity to engineering drawings, specifications, customer requirements, and controlled procedures. Will execute dimensional inspections, maintain inspection equipment and calibration records, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure accurate, traceable digital inspection data within applicable MES and QMS systems, directly supporting production readiness, quality compliance, and SPQDC (Safety, People, Quality, Delivery, Cost) performance. Demonstrated CMM operating experience, strong attention to detail, proficiency with precision measurement tools, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and follow established inspection methods while supporting continuous improvement of inspection processes.Responsibilities:Perform visual, mechanical, and dimensional inspections of manufactured components in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, inspection plans, and controlled proceduresOperate coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) to verify dimensional characteristics and product conformity; experience with any CMM manufacturer is acceptableSet up inspection equipment, execute existing CMM programs, and evaluate measurement results against defined acceptance criteriaInterpret engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and applicable inspection requirementsAccurately record, organize, and maintain traceable inspection data and records within applicable MES and QMS systemsIdentify, document, and communicate nonconformances or out-of-specification conditions for Quality and Engineering reviewSupport nonconforming product containment, inspection investigations, and corrective actions as assignedManage calibration activities for inspection and measurement equipment, including tracking due dates, maintaining records, and coordinating calibrationsPerform scheduled weekly and monthly preventive maintenance on inspection equipment in accordance with established proceduresVerify equipment calibration status and suitability for use before inspection activities; identify and escalate equipment issuesSupport inspection equipment readiness, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of measurement and inspection processesSupport PPAP, MSA, and FAI requirements through inspection execution and accurate documentation, as applicableParticipate in 5S, safety, and continuous improvement activities within the manufacturing and inspection areasComplete safety actions and other EH&S-assigned tasks in accordance with site requirementsAttend weekly Quality meetings, weekly meetings with shop personnel, monthly ADaM all-hands meetings, and monthly one-on-one meetings with the managerCollaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Operations to coordinate inspection priorities, communicate findings, and support production requirementsSupport and promote compliance with all quality requirements within the QMS and applicable industry regulations, such as AS9100, as pertaining to the roleRequirements:Demonstrated experience operating a coordinate measuring machine (CMM); experience with any manufacturer is acceptableExperience performing dimensional or mechanical inspection using precision measurement instrumentsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensional tolerances, and GD&T requirementsAbility to accurately document inspection results and maintain complete, traceable recordsStrong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures, work instructions, and inspection criteriaBasic computer skills and ability to work with digital data entry and recordkeeping systemsAbility to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods during inspection activitiesPreferred:Experience operating Hexagon CMM equipment and familiarity with PC-DMIS softwareExperience developing, editing, troubleshooting, or optimizing CMM inspection programs; PC-DMIS programming training can be providedExperience with calibration management, inspection equipment maintenance, or metrology systemsFamiliarity with GD&T, precision measurement methods, and aerospace manufacturing inspection requirementsExperience capturing digital inspection data and working within MES/QMS systemsExperience supporting AS9100 quality systems, PPAP, MSA, or AS9102 First Article Inspection (FAI) requirementsExperience in additive manufacturing, metal manufacturing, or other precision manufacturing environmentsAbility to understand and write standard work instructions, inspection procedures, or measurement methodsStrong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with an interest in continuous improvement of inspection workflowsEducation:AA/AS degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience, or a University Degree in a related field, or in the absence of a degree, 4 years of relevant experience
