Physical Therapist Assistant

AdventHealth is looking for a dedicated physical therapy assistant to join our team of passionate providers who are committed to delivering comprehensive care on site or at home. Your role will focus on patient evaluation, individualized care planning, and performance management across a busy 7‑a.m. to 7‑p.m. service window (Monday‑Thursday) and a 7‑a.m. to 5‑p.m. schedule on Fridays. Benefits and Perks Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and Disability insurance from Day One Paid Time Off from Day One 403‑B Retirement Plan Four weeks of 100% paid parental leave Career Development opportunities Whole Person Well‑Being Resources Mental Health Resources and Support Pet Benefits Job Description Location: 5018 Dr. Phillips Blvd; Orlando, FL 32819 Schedule: Five 8‑hour shifts per week within clinic hours Practice principles of employee and patient safety during daily job activities Support consumer marketing and public awareness through community events and educational lectures Implement individualized treatment plans based on evaluations, practice standards, insurance guidelines, and patient needs Modify treatment plans as necessary based on ongoing assessments and consultation with the physical therapist Collect patient data and communicate discharge recommendations when maximum benefit is achieved Document patient care accurately and promptly using measurable terminology and following standards of practice, insurance guidelines, and department policies Charge patients accurately and timely per CPT code format, price file, and insurance guidelines Oversee care provided by rehabilitation aides and coordinate activities with students and other support personnel Evaluate and interpret patient data relative to age‑appropriate norms and modify communication accordingly Identify need for caregiver education and document understanding Participate in performance improvement activities and support departmental quality standards and initiatives Maintain clinical competencies through professional development and serve as a clinical instructor when required Maintain productivity standards defined by the department while adjusting work hours to meet patient needs Perform other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Windows, and electronic medical record (EMR) systems Proficient in written, verbal, and electronic English Effective communication in written, verbal, and electronic formats Education Associate’s degree (required) Field of Study Physical Therapy (required) Work Experience One year of orthopaedic experience (preferred) Additional Information Bilingual (preferred) Licenses and Certifications Basic Life Support – CPR Certificate (required) Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) OR PTA‑TEMP (required) Physical Requirements Physical requirements detailed at Background Screening Requirement (Florida Law) Position subject to Florida Level 2 background screening, including fingerprinting, as required by state law Review screening information at Equal Opportunity Employer This facility is an equal‑opportunity employer and complies with federal, state, and local anti‑discrimination laws, regulations, and ordinances.
