Automotive Technician Location: Houston, TX 77087, United States Experience: 4 5 Years Job Type: Full-Time Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Automotive Technician with 4 5 years of hands-on experience in automotive repair and maintenance. The ideal candidate should have strong diagnostic and mechanical skills and be able to independently inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a variety of vehicles. Key Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on automobiles. Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using appropriate diagnostic tools and equipment. Perform brake, suspension, steering, and drivetrain repairs. Troubleshoot and repair engine and transmission-related issues. Perform oil changes, fluid services, tune-ups, and preventive maintenance. Inspect vehicles to identify safety and performance issues. Use scan tools and diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle faults. Repair or replace defective automotive components and parts. Perform tire rotations, wheel alignments, and other general service work. Follow manufacturer specifications and recommended repair procedures. Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and parts used. Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards. Keep the work area, tools, and equipment clean and organized. Communicate repair findings and recommended services to supervisors or customers when required. Required Qualifications 4 5 years of professional automotive technician experience. Strong knowledge of automotive mechanical and electrical systems. Hands-on experience with vehicle diagnostics and troubleshooting. Experience using automotive scan tools and diagnostic equipment. Knowledge of engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, and electrical systems. Ability to read and understand repair manuals and technical information. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Valid driver's license. Ability to safely operate and move vehicles as required. Preferred Skills ASE certification is a plus. Experience working with multiple vehicle makes and models. Experience with advanced electrical and computerized vehicle systems. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Good communication and time-management skills. Work Environment Hands-on automotive repair environment. Ability to stand, bend, lift, and work under or around vehicles for extended periods. Must be able to safely use automotive tools, lifts, diagnostic equipment, and shop equipment. Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of personal protective equipment.
