SOC Engineer II

Piper Companies is looking to fill the role of SOC Engineer II for a Cloud and Technology company located in Fulton, MD. We are seeking a candidate to focus on Tier 2 security monitoring along with hands‑on experience utilizing Splunk and AWS. The SOC Engineer II role requires time in office 2 days per week in Fulton, MD. Responsibilities of the SOC Engineer II Secret clearance required to support secure SOC and SIEM operations Hybrid location, ability to work onsite in RTP NC or Fulton MD two days per week on Tuesday and Thursday Splunk engineering expertise including dashboard creation, analytics development, SPL proficiency, and data onboarding AWS and cloud security experience with AWS Config, cloud integrations, and multi‑cloud security tooling SOC operational experience with Tier 2 SOC skills or strong incident response fundamentals and willingness to join an on‑call rotation Qualifications for the SOC Engineer II 2+ years of Professional SOC Engineering experience. Develop Splunk detections by building dashboards, correlation searches, knowledge objects, and optimized analytics within Splunk ES Manage data onboarding by integrating security data sources, normalizing logs, troubleshooting ingestion, and improving visibility Support incident response through deep‑dive investigations, threat containment, and participation in scheduled on‑call rotations Enhance cloud security by supporting AWS integrations, security tooling, and cloud‑based detection improvements Collaborate with SOC and engineering to improve detection coverage, operational efficiency, and overall SIEM performance Compensation for the SOC Engineer II $100,000-$120,000 Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, PTO, Sick leave if required by law, and Holidays #J-18808-Ljbffr Zachary Piper Solutions
