Direct Care Staff (Adult Division)

Our behavioral respite services help families of individuals with developmental disabilities by implementing behavioral support plans that increase functional skills, address behavioral challenges, and teach replacement behaviors - all while maintaining dignity and respect. As a Direct Care Staff member, you will deliver direct care to adults with autism and other developmental disabilities, making a meaningful impact on the individuals and families we serve.

Compensation: $19 - 23 + ($500 retention bonus at 6 months & Annual)

Employment: Full-Time / Part-Time

Required Skills and Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 1 years’ experience working with children or adults 
• BA degree in psychology, sociology, or other related field is a plus
• Provide ethical, effective, and practical behavior analytic interventions
• Bilingual skills are a plus
• Exceptional interpersonal skills
• Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification is a plus (If not certified, must train for, and receive certification within 3 months of hire)
• CPR/First Aid preferred
• ABA Knowledge preferred

Job Description

• Provide direct services in the home/residence under the support and supervision of the Clinical Director and Case Manager
• Build and maintain rapport with clients and their families to promote ongoing learning and an effective professional relationship
• Implement behavior strategies outlined in client’s behavior support plan
• Collect behavior and skills data accurately.
• Attend team meetings as scheduled
• Assist clients in day-to-day activities (e.g., meal prep, grooming, cleaning, etc.)

• Provide direct care to the client to increase daily living skills, cognitive development, socialization, and behavior management
• Performs other duties as assigned reasonably within the scope of a Direct Care Staff
• Implement individualized behavior support plans using applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles
• Collect behavior and skills data accurately.
• Required to complete accurate and timely documentation related to services provided through the Motivity data collection platform.
• Deescalate behaviors - PCM (we can reword this too) 
• Provides direct 1:1 services to children  or adults with autism and related disorders in the home or clinic setting under the supervision and guidance of the case specialist, supervisor, and clinical team

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25–50 pounds (ex: therapy materials, assisting clients as needed etc.)
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, or kneel frequently throughout the workday to engage with clients at their level.
• Visual and auditory ability to observe client behavior, monitor safety, and respond promptly to needs.
• Mobility to work in a clinical environment, including navigating between rooms, homes, community and supporting clients in structured activities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced setting and maintain energy and focus during extended interaction with clients - be able to remain physically active/engaged for the duration of therapy sessions
