Facility Maintenance Technician

Facility Maintenance TechnicianSeeking a temporary contract employee to serve as a Facility Maintenance Technician. The selected candidate will be responsible for performing basic repairs to equipment and building systems, as well as general facility maintenance, modifications, and repairs to ensure facilities are kept clean, functional, and maintained in accordance with company standards. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position with responsibilities in three primary areas: repairs, maintenance, and visitor escorting. The ideal candidate must possess mechanical aptitude, effective communication skills to provide updates on facility conditions, and the professionalism and courtesy required to host and escort visitors.Responsibilities include:Perform cleaning activities such as dusting, mopping, collecting trash, etc.Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, filling gaps on walls, etc.Maintain and inspect electrical circuitryInstall appliances and equipmentConduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbsInspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems (e.g. ventilation)Check functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarm)Collaborate with workers and other professionals during renovationsReport to a facilities or maintenance manager or general manager for issuesInstall and/or repair heating and refrigeration unitsPaint interior and exterior surfacesPerform custodial duties as necessaryAssist in preparing job estimates as requiredFollow safety policies and proceduresQualifications:Must pass a background check of 10 years, per airport requirementsMust have the ability to pass a drug screen prior to start date and at random during employmentMust possess a valid state driver's licenseHigh School or GED diploma highly preferredPrior facility maintenance experience highly preferredMust have the ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds on a frequent basisMust read, write, and fluently speak and understand the English languageMust read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memosMust write routine correspondenceMust be able to effectively present information, provide 1-on-1 updates, and at times to a small group such as vendors, contractors, clients, coworkersMust be able to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsMust have basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systemsMust have experience using hand and electrical toolsMust have the ability to read technical manuals and drawingsJohnson Service Group (JSG) offers medical, dental, vision, life insurance options, short-term disability, 401(k), weekly pay, and more.
