The Position

We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our Anaheim office. This role is ideal for a driven tax professional who thrives in a leadership capacity, overseeing complex engagements, managing client relationships, and mentoring staff. You will work closely with partners and play a key role in both client service delivery and internal team development.

What You’ll Do

• Manage and review complex tax engagements, including corporate, partnership, and individual returns
• Oversee multi-state and international tax compliance and planning projects
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing strategic tax advice and solutions
• Review tax research and technical memorandums prepared by staff and seniors
• Lead tax planning, projections, and consulting engagements
• Interface with IRS and state tax authorities on behalf of clients during audits and examinations
• Supervise, mentor, and develop tax staff and seniors, including performance reviews and training
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and in compliance with firm standards
• Assist with business development efforts, including identifying opportunities to expand client relationships
• Participate in recruiting, onboarding, and retention initiatives

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• 5–8+ years of public accounting tax experience
• Strong technical knowledge of corporate, partnership, and individual taxation
• Proven experience managing multiple engagements and leading teams
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills

Preferred:

• CPA or Enrolled Agent license
• Master’s degree in Taxation or MBA
• Experience with multi-state and international tax matters
• Strong accounting knowledge, including reviewing client financials and adjustments
• Experience with tax software such as CCH Axcess or similar platforms
• Industry exposure to real estate, manufacturing, and high-net-worth individuals
