LUNCHROOM/PLAYGROUND SUPERVISOR 2026-27

Supervisor: Principal / Assistant Principal

Starting Pay: $15.75 per hour Work Schedule: Shift is 3.0 - 3.25 hours per day; part-time/non-benefit. First day of school: August 19, 2026 ASSIGNMENTS AVAILABLE: Permanent positions currently available for K-2 & Grades 3-5. These openings are for less than 5 days per week.

Qualifications:

• Strong interest in working with school-age children
• Good communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Able to problem-solve issues quickly
• Successful experience supervising children grades K-8
• Dependable
• Possesses good judgement
• First Aid Certification a plus
• Possesses the ability to communicate and follow written and oral directions in a clear and concise manner
• Ability to build strong relationships with coworkers

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and assist students in the lunchroom with continuous observation
• Supervise and assist students on the playground with a keen awareness for safety and precautionary measures
• Assist team with cleaning the lunchroom
• Assist team with distribution of lunches
• Will be considered a mandated reporter for abuse and neglect (DCFS)
• Be engaging, reliable, and kind
• De-escalate conflict or an angry student situation
• Employ medical and safety precautions/responses
• May be asked to assist the school staff with light clerical duties as assigned by the principal, such as copying, organizing, laminating instructional materials, processing mail
• May be asked to assist in the media center with non-clerical tasks, e.g. shelving books, straightening materials
• Other tasks as assigned by the principal
• Use Red Rover Absent Management System to submit absences and to request substitutes for vacancies
• Complete all mandatory training requirements: Annual online Global Compliance Network (GCN) training and various school building drills/trainings such as fire drills, active shooter training, & tornado drills.
• Holidays, winter break, spring break, and summer break are non-active working days. Hours will range from 9:45 a.m. - 1:20 p.m. depending on actual school building. Five (5) days in school year designated a Professional Learning Days (PL)/Early Release Days which are half-days for students; your day would begin earlier at either 8:15 or 8:30 a.m. to accommodate the short day.
