Position Title: Ophthalmic Technician (Entry Level)

Location: Colorado Springs, CO 80909

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Pay: $18-$21/hour (based on experience)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented healthcare professional to join a busy specialty practice as an Ophthalmic Technician. This role is ideal for anyone with a healthcare background who is seeking a direct patient care opportunity in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient workups, including visual acuity testing, intraocular pressure measurements, pupil evaluations, and ocular history collection.
• Conduct advanced retinal diagnostic testing, including Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), fundus photography, visual field testing, and angiography as ordered by physicians.
• Prepare patients for retinal procedures and assist physicians during intravitreal injections, laser procedures, and minor in-office treatments.
• Administer ophthalmic medications, including dilating and diagnostic eye drops, under physician supervision.
• Accurately document patient histories, examination findings, and diagnostic test results within the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Maintain ophthalmic equipment, diagnostic imaging devices, and exam rooms to ensure proper functionality and cleanliness.
• Monitor and replenish clinical supplies as needed.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and patient safety standards.
• Deliver exceptional patient care while maintaining professionalism and excellent communication throughout each patient encounter.

Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of healthcare experience, preferably in a direct patient care setting.
• Ability to learn and perform specialized ophthalmic diagnostic testing.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented clinical environment.
