Database AdministratorThe Database Administrator is responsible for administering, supporting, and optimizing Affiliated Distributors' enterprise database environments and modern data ecosystem, including Lawson databases, Snowflake, AWS-based data services, and Drupal (Acquia).This role combines traditional database administration responsibilities with modern cloud-based data platform and data warehousing functions. The Database Administrator serves as the primary technical owner for Lawson database-related responsibilities while also supporting enterprise data integration, data warehousing, reporting, and analytics initiatives. The position focuses on ensuring database reliability, performance, security, and availability while enabling efficient data extraction, transformation, modeling, and reporting across enterprise systems.The Database Administrator will play a key role in supporting the Drupal platform and broader data initiatives by ensuring enterprise data is secure, accurate and accessible across systems.Primary Responsibilities:Database Administration (Oracle Databases)Serve as the primary technical owner for Oracle / Lawson database-related tasks and support, as our third-party service provider transitions off at the end of the yearOversee Lawson-related performance monitoring, backups, recovery coordination, and database support activitiesSupport database-related aspects of system implementations, upgrades, and operational stabilityCoordinate data access, integrations, and downstream data usage to ensure Lawson data is effectively leveraged across analytics and reporting platformsData Platform & Warehousing (Snowflake / AWS)Support the Snowflake data warehouse environment, including data modeling and performance tuningDevelop and maintain data pipelines and workflows within AWS (e.g., S3, Lambda, Glue, or similar services)Design and implement scalable data structures to support analytics / reporting needsMonitor data pipelines and ensure reliability, performance, and data integrityData Integration, ETL & Transformation:Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT processes to move and transform data across systemsPerform data cleansing, validation, and reconciliation between source and target systemsSupport ongoing data migration and integration efforts, including DrupalDevelop and optimize SQL queries for transformation and reportingDrupal Data & Reporting:Assist with Drupal (Acquia) data structures to extract, transform, and prepare data for reporting and analyticsValidate and reconcile data migrated from the private website to Drupal to ensure accuracy and completenessEnable downstream reporting tools and dashboards through well-structured datasetsIntegrate Drupal and digital analytics data using platforms such as Google BigQuery to support scalable, actionable reportingCross-System Data Management:Support the need for consistent and synchronized data across platforms including Lawson, Snowflake, Drupal, and AWSEstablish and enforce data governance and data quality best practicesDocument data flows, transformations, and system integrationsRequirementsAt least three years of hands-on experience with Oracle databasesBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)3+ years of experience working with data platforms, databases, or data engineering workflowsProficient in writing complex SQL queriesStrong SQL skills with experience writing complex queries and transformationsExperience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouse technologiesExperience working with AWS data services (e.g., S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, or similar)Familiarity with extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL)/ELT tools and data pipeline developmentExperience working with web or CMS data structures (Drupal experience preferred)Experience working in both Windows and Linux operating systemsExperience migrating databases to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Oracle) is a plusStrong written and verbal communication skillsDesired Skills:Proficient in administering Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL databasesExperienced in managing and improving database securityAbility to establish and enforce database management best practices with a focus on continuous improvementExperience with reporting/BI tools (e.g. Qlik, Power BI, Tableau, or similar)Familiarity with data governance and data quality frameworksExperience working in hybrid environments combining legacy systems and modern cloud platformsAdditional Comments:Position is based out of our corporate office in Wayne, PA, where we work on a hybrid schedule (Monday and Friday remote and Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in the offices in Wayne, PA)Travel: NoneAD is proud to be an equal employment opportunity employer.
