Description
  • Assess patients of all ages utilizing standardized evaluations and observational strategies.
  • Craft individualized treatment plans targeting both short- and long-term objectives for communication, cognition, or swallowing.
  • Deliver focused speech therapy interventions that underscore communication, language dynamics, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Engage collaboratively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, doctors, caretakers, and families to establish integrated care plans.
  • Provide education to patients and families to facilitate progress beyond therapy sessions.
  • Assist with inpatient evaluations and treatments as needed, ensuring seamless continuity of care during every phase of the treatment process.
  • Maintain comprehensive and timely documentation, adhering to state, federal, and organizational guidelines.
  • Continue professional development by staying informed about the latest advancements in the field through ongoing education and peer interactions.
Education
  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not already ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • Authorization to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state.
  • Preferred: ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).
  • Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within the first month of employment.

  • Expertise in evidence-based therapeutic techniques for diverse age groups, along with a solid grasp of developmental and acquired communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Flexibility in adapting therapy methods to meet varying cultural and linguistic needs.
  • Strong clinical insight and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records and established documentation standards.
