Registered Nurse (RN) - Tele

RN — Telemetry / PCU

Shift ratios: 4:5 (days, nights, weekends) - Weekends: Every other weekend

Unit census: 36 rooms; average daily census ~35

License: GA RN or Compact license required at time of submission

Minimum: 2 years RN experience

Charting: Epic required

Required certifications: BLS and ACLS (NIHSS preferred)

Clinical skills:

• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Pre/post cardiac cath and post-MI care
• Management of chest tubes, central/PICC lines, IV starts/maintenance
• Oxygen therapies, HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, non-invasive airway support
• ABG interpretation, blood product administration, renal failure care
• Insulin/anticoagulation protocols, PCA familiarity
• Rapid Response/Code team participation, wound care/VAC

Roles and responsibilities:

• Monitor patients' cardiac status and vital signs in a telemetry unit.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring safety and efficacy.
• Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatment options, and preventative care.
• Respond to changes in patient conditions promptly and effectively.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain patient records accurately.

Compliance/notes:

• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• All compliance documents due the Tuesday prior to start
• RTO (Requested Time Off): Max 7 days per contract; ALL RTO must be finalized at time of submission
• RTO blackout: Spring Break (no RTO)
