Process Engineer - Night Shift

AstraZeneca seeks a Process Engineer for their Coppell, Texas manufacturing facility on a 12-hour rotating night shift (2pm-2am). The role involves leading process improvements, designing studies, managing equipment validation, and supporting pharmaceutical batch manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and implement process improvements to increase safety, reduce costs, and improve product quality
- Develop control strategies, instrument designs, and automation specifications with emergency procedures
- Author, review, and approve manufacturing procedures and batch records for GMP compliance
- Design experiments, conduct data analysis, and support scale-up activities from R&D to production
- Investigate manufacturing deviations using root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or related technical discipline
- 1-2 years experience in pharmaceutical production or GMP-regulated environment
- Ability to read P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and perform mass/energy balances
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience with PLC, SCADA, or DCS control systems at operational or engineering level
- Familiarity with batch reactors, filter dryers, heat exchangers, and vacuum transfer systems
- Technical writing and data analysis capabilities for quality and safety assessments
