- **Title:**Grounds Keeper# **Job Description:****Job Overview**The Groundskeeper will be responsible for maintaining the grounds of property using hand or power tools or equipment. **Roles & Responsibilities**To perform this job successfully and safely, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.* Maintain cleanliness of assigned areas such as sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, burial sites, or other grounds features* Make minor repairs to items such as fences, gates, or walls* Gather, remove, and dispose of trash or waste materials* Water and irrigate lawns, trees, or plants using portable sprinkler systems* Use irrigation methods to adjust the amount of water consumption and to prevent waste* Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges using grounds maintenance equipment* Mow or edge lawns, using power mowers or edger* Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, or shrubs and apply mulch for protection, using gardening tools* Rake, mulch, and compost leaves* Operate and perform minor repairs on grounds maintenance equipment such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snow blowers, chainsaws, electric clippers, sod cutters, or pruning saws* Comply with safety rules, policies and procedures including use of personal protective equipment.Stops at risk behaviors of others and self* Respond to trouble calls and cleans up spills* Communicate with co-workers, management, and customers and advises on plant selection or care* The ability to drive to various work locations, customer sites, or company facilities may be necessary to perform the essential functions of this position.* Provide information about landscaping services or costs **Qualification**To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. **Education and/ or Experience**High school diploma / GED – preferredSix months related experience and/or training – preferred **Certificates, Licenses, Registrations**A valid driver's license may be required for this position based on business needs. Employees required to drive as part of their job duties must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and meet company driving eligibility requirementsCompleted all safety and task training certifications. **Supervisory Responsibilities**This position has no supervisory responsibilities. **Physical Demands & Work Environment**The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
