Our mission is to advance the health and wellbeing of our communities as a leader in clinical laboratory solutions.Location: Dallas, Texas, 75247Days: Tuesday - SaturdayHours: 10:00 am - 6:30 pmFull-time Benefits EligibleIn this role, you will:Performs tasks normally associated with supervision such as hiring, training, coaching, scheduling, directing and appraising the work of assigned staffHold regularly scheduled one on ones with direct reports on at least a monthly basisIs an advocate for direct reports regarding ensuring ideas are heard/shared and in their career progression planning and effortsMaintain accurate records.Adhere to laboratory’s quality control policies, document all quality control activities, and maintain a clean and well-organized work area.Maintain proficiency and training requirements.Ensure compliance with all regulations.Participate in inventory management, special projects and perform other duties as assigned by management.Assist in staff development and training.Assists the Lab Manager in the maintenance/upkeep of documentation and records and preparation for inspections.Communicate with pathologists regarding laboratory issues, client’s needs, and respond quickly and efficiently to concerns/feedback regarding histology within the lab.Track and monitor laboratory quality indicators.Answer technical questions from pathologists and clients regarding lab processes and histology workflows.Independently and proactively identify problems in the laboratory and institute appropriate corrective actions.Ensure operational compliance with the laboratory’s SOPs and Quality Management Systems.Exercise all laboratory safety precautions and adhere to lab procedures as stated in procedure manuals.RequirementsPossesses an Associate degree in Histology, Biology, Chemistry or another related field5 years of experience in the histology field including at least 4 years of experience gained after earning a relevant degreeHT or HTL (ASCP) certification is preferredStrong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsAbility to work well independently and in a team environmentMust be detail-oriented and have high integrity and disciplineWe’ll give you:Appreciation for your workA feeling of satisfaction that you’ve helped peopleOpportunity to grow within the organizationFree lab services for you and your eligible dependentsWork-life balance, including Paid Time Off and Paid HolidaysCompetitive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insuranceHelp saving for retirement, with a 401(k) that includes a generous company matchA sense of belonging – we are a community!We also want you to know:This role will have routine access to Protected Health Information (PHI).
