Director of Growth
SEQUEL CORP
About Sequel
Every company is becoming a media company. The problem is that most of them are building their audience on someone else's platform, and handing their best data to it.
Sequel fixes that. We power webinars, virtual events, and video programs that live directly on a company's own website, so every registration, view, question, and click becomes first-party data they own. Then we put that data to work. With our new AI agents, Sequel helps marketing teams create programs faster, turn engaged viewers into pipeline, and grow their audience without adding headcount.
We call it - Human Moments, Agentic Momentum.
We're trusted by 300+ customers, some of the world's fastest growing companies like Cisco, Zoominfo, Clay, ElevenLabs, Newsweek, etc. are building their audience with Sequel. We've kept zero churn among our mid market & enterprise customers, and we've tripled our growth multiple times. We're VC-backed and recently closed a new round of funding to double down on AI and scale the team.
Director of Growth @ Sequel.io
Sequel is hiring a Director of Growth to own the pipeline engine: ABM, paid media, email, and SEO, with strong influence on the martech stack that ties it together. You'll report directly to the VP of Marketing.
Our biggest swing this year is enterprise. We've got strong product-market fit in mid-market and exciting traction in enterprise, and want to push harder into larger accounts, which means this role needs real account-based marketing chops alongside performance marketing fundamentals. We're also looking for someone who is highly analytical and data-driven, with a growth hacker's instinct: comfortable running rapid experiments, killing what doesn't work fast, and doubling down on what does.
If you've managed a BDR team before and we're confident you can do it here, there’s an opportunity to take on management of our BDR team (currently 3, soon to be 4 BDRs). If not, we'll hire a BDR manager who reports directly to the VP of Marketing. Either way works. What matters more is whether you can build and run a demand engine that converts an enterprise prospect list into closed revenue, at a company that changes shape every quarter.
Key responsibilities
-
Demand generation, end to end: ABM, paid digital, and (possibly) the outbound BDR team.
-
The referral and word-of-mouth flywheel. It's already one of our stronger pipeline sources, alongside renewals, partners, and the Game Changers program, but nothing about it is intentional yet.
-
Strategy and execution across paid media and email.
-
ABM for our enterprise push, from target account selection through campaign execution
-
Alignment between marketing and sales, so pipeline generated actually converts to closed business, not just demos that don’t convert
-
Rapid experimentation: testing new channels, formats, and offers quickly, and having the judgment to know when a test has run long enough to call it
-
The go to market motion around our field marketing events, in partnership with another team member who owns field.
-
BDR management, if your background supports it (see below)
What you’ll bring
-
Real, hands-on account-based marketing experience, not just familiarity with the concept.
-
An AI-forward, growth hacker mentality: you run experiments, not just campaigns.
-
A track record of aligning marketing programs to sales outcomes, measured in closed revenue, not just leads.
-
You read data and act on it. Show you a funnel and you can tell us where it leaks and what you'd test first, with numbers, not adjectives.
-
You know the channels cold. Paid media, SEO, and increasingly the answer-engine surface where buyers now ask questions of a model. You understand what each channel is good for and what it can't do.
-
You're fluent in a modern GTM stack. HubSpot, Clay, Apollo, ZoomInfo are tools you've built workflows with, not just logged into.
-
You think in leverage. When something needs to scale, your first instinct is to build a system, not to ask for a hire
What You’ll Own
-
Demand generation, end to end: ABM, paid digital, and (possibly) the outbound BDR team.
-

What You’ll Actually Do
-
Study how people move through the funnel and which campaigns produce real pipeline, not just clicks, then turn that read into the next set of bets.
-
Run rapid experiments across channels. Kill what isn't working quickly. Put more behind what is.
-
Build growth systems with LLMs, APIs, and enrichment tools: personalized outreach at scale, funnel automation, and lead scoring and routing a rep can actually trust.
-
Lead the BDR team and raise the quality of outbound, not only its volume.
-
Work shoulder to shoulder with sales, product marketing, and customer success.
How We Work
Sequel's marketing team is AI-first, and we mean that operationally, not as a buzzword on a careers page. We expect you to use AI tools to build campaigns faster, test more variants, and cut the busywork out of execution. But the instinct we're hiring for is growth hacking, not just AI fluency: you should already think in terms of experiments, hypotheses, and kill criteria, with or without AI in the loop.
Our product ships constantly, and our go-to-market moves just as fast. The plan you had Monday may look different by Wednesday. We're a challenger brand taking bold, aggressive bets against much bigger competitors, and we expect the person in this seat to want to lean into that challenge.
What We’re Looking For
-
Real, hands-on ABM experience, not just familiarity with the concept.
-
An AI-forward, growth hacker mentality: you run experiments, not just campaigns.
-
A track record of aligning marketing programs to sales outcomes, measured in closed revenue, not just leads.

You think in leverage. When something needs to scale, your first instinct is to build a system, not to ask for a hire.
Bonus points!
-
Prior experience managing a BDR team
-
Experience in the events, webinar, or virtual engagement space
-
Experience marketing as a challenger brand against larger, better-funded competitors
-
Based in New York or San Francisco
Why This Role, Why Now
We have a large total addressable market, customers who love us, and close to zero churn at the enterprise level. What we don't have yet is enterprise penetration that matches our product's actual strength there, and closing that gap is this role's mandate.
We're led by a CEO with a marketing background who believes in investing in brand, not just performance channels, which is rare at our stage. Pair that with a highly differentiated, increasingly agentic product and a market position we think we can define rather than just compete in, and this is a role built to have an outsized impact on where Sequel ends up.
Why join us + Perks:
-
Real ownership from day one. This is a high-impact role where your work ships, customers feel it, and no two days look the same.
-
Remote-first, with hubs in New York and San Francisco. We run on strong async communication and a collaborative, low-ego team. Work from anywhere, or work in person at our NY and SF hubs, and join us for our annual team offsite (this year we were in Barcelona!), kick-offs, and weekly virtual hang-outs.
-
A seat at the table. Everyone has a voice here. We actively ask for feedback and act on it.
-
Built to be AI-native. You'll work with the best AI tools and learn how to use them to do the best work of your career.
-
Comprehensive benefits. Health, dental, vision, 401(k), parental leave, and a generous fitness stipend. Gotta stay healthy - mind and body!
-
Generous time off. 20 days of PTO a year, plus a winter company shutdown so the whole team can fully recharge, and extra days off for the special moments in your life, like your birthday.
-
Room to grow. A clear path for growth and development across the company, with leaders who invest in your career.
