Employee Type Full Time Non-Exempt Manage Others No Contact information Description Position Summary: The Production Technician I is an entry-level role responsible for supporting the assembly, testing, and packaging of computer server hardware in a high-volume manufacturing environment. The Production Technician I performs diagnostics and troubleshooting of computer hardware and software applications while performing and assisting the repair process. The Production Technician I is responsible for ensuring product quality through repairing and testing of product to ensure production specifications are met. The Production Technician I documents issues and reports potential quality related problems to Quality Management. Essential Functions Identify defects and/or flaws in routine parts and/or production. Repair or replace parts as necessary for servers. Use tools and test equipment of various types, to repair servers. Disassemble and/or reassemble units according to the applicable work instructions. Order correct parts using the proper procedures using the damage materials review (DMR) tool. Test units according to work instructions and process flows. Inspect products to ensure correct labeling. Accurately complete production documentation and track work where appropriate. Enter repair data accurately into the Quanta manufacturing system (QMS) shop floor system. Document and communicate repair issues to engineering. Perform data collection and analysis for use in problem solving. Maintain a clean and organized workstation (5S standards). Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor/manager. Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent required. One (1) to two (2) or more years’ experience in a related field such as computer science, engineering tech or similar. Associate’s degree or equivalent experience preferred. One or more IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Cisco CCNA preferred. Physical Requirements Work is in a typical manufacturing environment; temperatures are controlled but sometimes can be warmer or colder than typical office settings. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to distinguish colors. Ability to stand/sit for long periods. Ability to stoop/bend to look under, over and around items.
