Full Time Apprentice Meatcutter

Responsible for efficiently cutting and processing the complete variety of meat products to achieve maximum yield and gross profit according to Meat Standards, cleaning work areas, providing customer service unloading stock, and reloading salvage.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to write simple correspondence in English. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, vendors, and other associates of the organization who only speak English.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Complete Company training including but not limited to: new hire orientation, food sanitation training, customer service training, safety, food safety, and product knowledge.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The associate is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, and taste or smell. The associate is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and reach from 6–72 inches; frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and reach from 6–72 inches. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color, and depth perception.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment is a cool environment with an average temperature range of 34–36°F, often wet and/or humid, with moving mechanical parts. The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and extreme cold. Noise level is usually moderate to loud.
