Facilities Maintenace Specialist

Position Summary The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is responsible for keeping records on building maintenance and construction projects, schedule routine and emergency maintenance. The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is responsible for repairs, maintenance, and cleaning at each facility. Assisting with moving supplies and materials as needed for events and other projects. Position Competencies Maintenance and repair of the mechanical systems at each of the facilities. Supervision of the Landscaping, Tree Trimming, wells and irrigation systems. Update changes as they occur to the maintenance schedule at each facility. Organization and Inventory of offsite storage. Repairs and Troubleshooting malfunctions on the MDME equipment at IPU facilities. Supervision of the Cleaning Services, Flooring and Carpet Cleaning at each facility. Assist with the upkeep of the Butterfly Gardens and Pet Garden. Checking Irrigation system, wells, and animal removal as needed. Maintenance of all signage at every facility. General Cleaning and Maintenance at each facility as needed or requested. Facility Areas BUILDING MAINTENANCE: Maintenance and repair of the mechanical systems at each of the facilities. Supervision of the Landscaping, Tree Trimming, wells and irrigation systems. Update changes as they occur to the maintenance schedule at each facility. Organization and Inventory of offsite storage. Repairs and Troubleshooting malfunctions on the MDME equipment at IPU facilities. Supervision of the Cleaning Services, Flooring and Carpet Cleaning at each facility. General Cleaning and Maintenance at each facility as needed or requested. Facility Safety Building Safety inspections at each facility. Responsible for keeping the monthly inspection reports logged and the repairs that are needed scheduled. Troubleshooting electrical, plumbing, and mechanical issues. Replacing or installing the proper lighting supplies to meet the safety needs of each facility. Keeping inventory records on lighting and ballast replacements at every facility. Inspection of the Fire Extinguishers, Exit Lighting, Fire Alarm Systems, and Fire Sprinkler Systems at each of the facilities. Assist with fire drills at all locations. Building Security Inspect and repair security systems as needed. Reset passwords as needed. Participate in the yearly inspection with the police or sheriff’s departments to review the safety of each of our facilities. Courier Assist with the moving and storing of the Holiday and Event Decorations – moving boxes out to facilities before and after the events. Workspace Design Responsible for the Cubical maintenance and reconfiguration projects. Events Assisting the Philanthropy Department with fundraising events. Responsible for purchasing supplies, setting up rental equipment (tents, tables, chairs), moving supplies and materials to and from event sites. Assist with the delivery and setup for the event. This position is classified as non-exempt and is hourly. Usual work hours will be scheduled between the hours of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with flexibility according to the company needs. Essential Work Functions This position is based out of the main office with travel to each facility. This position must have above average verbal and written communication skills. This position requires frequent travel and use of a personal vehicle. The work environment may be stressful at times as overall activities and work levels fluctuate.
