As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol in Harvey, IL , this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you. Pay Rate: $22.74 / Hour Job Schedule: DayTimeSat07:00 AM - 05:00 PM How This Role Works: Fixed‑Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment. Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed. Responsibilities: Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and members of the public at a government location by carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate. Respond to incidents, disturbances, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency responders when needed. Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, offices, public areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns. Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials and/or authorization as directed, and report unusual conditions or policy violations. Complete accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift logs in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements. Minimum Requirements: Have at least 1 year of security‑related experience. Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED. Be at least 21 years of age. A state, county, or city‑issued security professional license is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
