Family Law Attorney
Our client is seeking an experienced Family Law Attorney needed to manage divorce and custody cases, represent clients in court, and deliver strategic, client-focused legal solutions in a fast-paced practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and review family law pleadings and forms to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and persuasiveness
- Oversee and guide the work of paralegals and case managers
- Represent clients in court for hearings, including RFOs, DVROs, VSC/MSCs, trials, and depositions
- Conduct client consultations to assess needs, develop legal strategies, and gather relevant information
- Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel or parties to achieve favorable outcomes
- Analyze case details to determine evidentiary needs and manage document collection and discovery
- Delegate tasks effectively to support staff and monitor case progress
Qualifications:
- Ability to develop and execute case strategies, including legal research of statutes and case law
- Strong litigation skills with confidence in courtroom representation
- Experience reviewing financial records and organizing discovery materials
- Proven ability to negotiate settlements aligned with client goals
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to balance empathy and clear legal guidance
- Strong legal writing skills, including drafting concise and persuasive declarations (5-7 pages)
- High emotional intelligence, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment
- Solid knowledge of California family law, with experience handling cases involving estates from $200,000 to $2 million
- Willingness to take on diverse responsibilities in a growing practice
- Strong time management and billing discipline, including accurate and timely entry of billable hours
- Proficiency with legal software and technology; comfortable working in a paperless environment
- Ability to quickly take ownership of cases and deliver high-quality legal representation
- Demonstrated success in building client relationships and handling family law matters effectively
