Senior Planner

NJ Licensed Professional PlannerPennoni is currently seeking a NJ Licensed Professional Planner who is familiar with the Municipal Land Use Law (MLUL) and related New Jersey planning statutes and regulations to lead project-level planners and support staff on multi-disciplinary planning projects.Responsibilities and requisite experience include:Preparation of master plans and master plan reexamination reports, zoning ordinances and development regulations, review of development applications, planning reports and analyses, redevelopment studies and plans, zoning ordinances, and affordable housing plans and studies.Review and prepare local municipal ordinances.Perform as Project Manager for planning projects in charge of staff, budget, and schedule.Prepare evaluation criteria of Municipal Planning review letters/documents.Undertake zoning, land use and urban design evaluations to assist Principal/Director.Municipal appointments as planning board, zoning board, or municipal planner.Review development applications and prepare planning reports for planning and zoning boardsPlan and facilitate public participation events to formulate and develop land use or community plans.Lead the preparation of design guidelines for open space, building form, project review and site planning.Conduct field investigations / site visits to compile and analyze data on factors affecting land use.Marketing proposal writing, with assistance from Pennoni Corporate Communications.Attend night meetings or public engagement events if required for project.Required AttributesRequired education: Degree in Planning, Architecture, or Landscape Architecture.Minimum years of work experience: 10.American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) Certification.NJ Licensed Professional Planner (PP)Computer Skills: MS Word and Excel, Adobe Suite.Comprehensive planning experience, with understanding of urban design and community planning principles.Familiarity with or experience in GIS.Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to prioritize and manage tasks effectively.Excellent organizational skills.Preferred AttributesExperience in community visioning, public outreach, and charrettesLayout and graphic design for public engagement exhibits, massing plans, and conceptual urban designUnderstanding and experience in innovative planning, design, and zoning techniques, including form-based codes a plusExperience in resiliency and sustainable planning techniques a plusTARGET SALARY RANGE: $100k - $120k (per year)Contributing to the health and well-being of team members is a top priority for Pennoni; therefore, we designed our benefits package to exceed industry norms while providing our team members with exceptionally competitive and comprehensive benefits.
