Activities Director

Provides oversight of resident engagement needs related to physical, social, emotional, mental, and religious/spiritual well-beingProvides and schedules resources for physical activitiesRecruits, trains, supervises, and schedules volunteers in accordance with facility policyCommunicates effectively, both verbally and in writing, with staff, residents, families, and community partnersDevelops an activity schedule in compliance with VDSS activity requirementsPlans, conducts, and evaluates activities to meet the individual interests, abilities, and preferences of residentEstablishes relationships with residents and families to better address their individual needsDevelops and maintains a monthly activity calendar and ensures it is accessible to residentsCoordinates with all departments to ensure awareness of scheduled events, assigned roles, and responsibilitiesEnsures activities are appropriate to the resident population and level of independence and interestEnsures acknowledgment and appreciation of volunteers through thank-you notes or lettersKnowledgeable in office procedures and well organizedMaintains a neat and professional appearance; closed-toe shoes are requiredDemonstrates basic computer skills for scheduling, documentation, and communicationBe of acceptable physical and mental health to carry out assigned dutiesMust possess mature judgment skills and be able to respond to emergency situationsAttendance is required during inclement weatherFollows infection control policies & proceduresFollows all policies & procedures of Runk and PrattMaintains appropriate & respectful conduct within the workplaceProvides support in any area that may arise that is above and beyond the normal expectations for this position.Strong verbal and written communication skillsA minimum of 6 months experience in healthcare or related field director, coordinating or planning eventsGraduation from high school or GEDComplete annual in-service training as requiredState Police background check that is free from barrier offensesA current Tuberculosis screening on or within 7 days prior to the first day of employment and free from TuberculosisThe ability to meet physical requirements for positionThe ability to pass a drug testAble to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. without limitations using proper body mechanicsAble to stand and walk for extended periods of timeAble to position self to assist residents with their needsAble to pull, push wheelchairs, kneel, transfer residents and other physical movements to meet physical needs of residents in a fast paced environmentAble to tolerate exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals #J-18808-Ljbffr Runk & Pratt Health Care Ent Inc
