Senior Software Engineer, Developer Experience [Remote]

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Developer Experience based in the United States.

This role focuses on shaping and improving the internal engineering ecosystem that powers large-scale product development across multiple platforms. You will be responsible for making software delivery faster, more reliable, and more enjoyable for engineers across the organization by enhancing build systems, CI/CD pipelines, testing infrastructure, and developer workflows. The work sits at the intersection of infrastructure, tooling, and product engineering, with a strong emphasis on usability and performance. You will collaborate closely with frontend, backend, mobile, and platform engineers to identify friction points and design scalable solutions. The environment is highly collaborative and impact-driven, with a strong focus on developer productivity and engineering excellence. This is a hands-on role where technical depth and systems thinking directly shape how thousands of engineers build and ship software.

Accountabilities:

• Design, build, and maintain core developer experience systems including build tooling, CI/CD pipelines, test infrastructure, observability tools, and development environments that improve engineering velocity and reliability.
• Partner with engineers across web, backend, iOS, and Android teams to identify workflow bottlenecks and deliver scalable tooling that improves the end-to-end development lifecycle.
• Improve developer workflows by optimizing performance, simplifying configuration, and enhancing usability across local and cloud-based development systems.
• Evaluate, adopt, and integrate modern engineering tools and emerging technologies, including AI-assisted development capabilities, to enhance productivity and developer satisfaction.
• Lead cross-functional engineering initiatives from design through execution, ensuring strong alignment with developer needs and measurable impact on engineering efficiency.
• Solve complex technical problems across the stack, including frontend, backend, and infrastructure layers, with a focus on long-term maintainability and scalability.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally with exposure to developer infrastructure, platform engineering, or developer experience roles.
• Strong proficiency in at least one major programming language, with adaptability across multiple languages and frameworks such as Go, Python, TypeScript, or similar.
• Experience building and maintaining high-quality, reliable, and performant software systems with strong emphasis on testing and maintainability.
• Familiarity with developer tooling systems such as CI/CD pipelines, build systems, test automation, or internal developer platforms.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex engineering challenges and evaluate tradeoffs effectively.
• Demonstrated interest in improving developer productivity and engineering workflows, either professionally or through open-source contributions.
• Strong curiosity, analytical thinking, and a data-informed approach to improving systems and processes.
