Director, Fixed Income Trading (New York)

Responsibilities

• Overseeing trading strategy, risk management, and revenue generation across a designated asset class
• Setting Trading Strategy for the asset class, aligning execution with market conditions, client objectives, and departmental revenue goals
• Monitoring Risk and Positions across the trading desk
• Leading and Developing Talent by mentoring junior traders
• Collaborating with Internal Partners including Compliance, Risk Management, and senior leadership
• Executing Trades in support of Institutional and Retail Sales representatives
• Generating Revenue Ideas by delivering actionable trade recommendations and market insights to Sales teams
• Maintaining Broker Relationships with national and regional dealers to enhance liquidity and market access
• Ensuring Regulatory Compliance through timely reporting and adherence to all applicable regulations
• Providing Product Expertise via formal training sessions and daily collaboration with Sales teams
• Representing Fifth Third as a thought leader in fixed income markets

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
• 12 years of experience in Banking, Investment Banking, M&A, or Capital Markets
• Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7, and Series 63 licenses (or ability to obtain within company policy)
• Series 24 preferred
• Professional proficiency from 10 years of relevant work or internship experience in finance, accounting, or a related field
• Deep expertise in fixed income instruments, market dynamics, and trading strategies
• Advanced proficiency in Bloomberg and trade processing systems
• Strong risk management and regulatory compliance knowledge
