Membership Director

$25 - $35 per hour

Overview The Membership Director is responsible for recruiting, developing, and retaining client relationships across clubs or campus, recommending and promoting membership selections throughout the entire membership lifecycle, and generating and maintaining topline revenue production. Primary Responsibilities Complete a full sales cycle from inception to sale and member integration. Recruit membership prospects and cultivate a strong member referral business. Assist with development and execution of special events to engage members. Engage with members in a professional manner in the club and at club‑sponsored events. Execute club tours and client assessments to recommend appropriate membership options. Maintain accurate membership sales tracking and reports; use Salesforce CRM and revenue trackers for forecasting. Schedule tasks and follow up with prospective members promptly. Log daily activity related to membership sales. Follow up with members and prospective members in a professional and timely manner. Attend special events and activities to provide sales information and tours. Maintain excellent customer service, enhancing experience and retention. Assist members with all membership changes, including upgrades, downgrades, and conversions. Resolve member or prospective member issues with high service attention. Support club operational tasks and initiatives as needed. Meet or exceed overall membership levels, mix, and revenue goals. Resolve member billing issues in a timely manner, issue credits or adjustments as needed. Ensure all membership contracts are correct and signed by members. Interact professionally with senior management, managers, staff, vendors, and community. Promote harmonious relations among members, staff, vendors, and the community. Represent the club professionally in image, dress, communication, and follow‑through. Assist members with key issues, exercising independent judgement. Communicate with prospective and current members, providing suggestions on membership options and club programs. Develop professional relationships with members and prospective members. Process membership upgrade, downgrade, reactivation, and leave of absence requests. Participate in required events, programs, meetings, and trainings. Support operational needs of the club. Orient new members into the club by introducing key staff and scheduling introductory appointments. Promote the company's safety goals and ensure compliance with policies. Actively support corporate objectives and improvement initiatives. Make professional development a consistent priority. Regularly work monthly close‑out dates (mid‑month and month‑end). Maintain flexible schedule, including day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts. Qualifications Minimum 1–2 years of experience in hospitality, customer service, or sales. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and customer‑service attitude. Detail‑oriented, well‑organized, and able to meet strict deadlines. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience with Salesforce/Service Cloud highly preferred. Associate degree or equivalent is desired; bachelor’s degree is a plus. Knowledge of policies and regulations, sales and marketing principles, member experience, problem anticipation. Written and oral comprehension and expression. Computer proficiency in Salesforce, Word, Excel, and related software. Working Conditions / Physical Requirements Regular interaction with prospective members and members in person, phone, and email. Primarily indoors; occasional outdoor transition. Handle difficult situations and adapt to a changing environment. Occasional sitting and standing.
