Senior Mechanical Engineer - Robotics

Overview Senior Mechanical Engineer — Autonomous Robots. We're hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a fast growing robotics company building autonomous delivery systems that operate in real world, high volume environments. You will own complex electromechanical subsystems from early prototype through volume production, working closely with electrical, software, and manufacturing teams to bring reliable hardware to the field. Responsibilities Own complex electromechanical subsystems from prototype through volume production. Collaborate with electrical, software, and manufacturing teams to bring reliable hardware to the field. Design for volume manufacturing and participate in qualification and transfer to production. Document engineering work, create and maintain test procedures, and support fabrication and assembly during scale‑up. Qualifications BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering, with 8+ years of experience, including 2+ years in production environments Fluent in CAD (SolidWorks preferred), including complex assemblies, configurations, and drawings Strong mechanical intuition and build skills, with a track record of crafting proof of concept prototypes Strong analytical capability across mechanical, structural, and pneumatic systems: statics and dynamics, FEA, hand calculations and computational methods, including complex FBDs, tolerance analysis, process capability, and vibration and fatigue analysis. Proficiency in Python or Matlab; CFD experience is a plus At least one full cycle owning a complex mechanical system from prototype to volume production, ideally involving significant mechanism design, motor and drivetrain specification, and integration of sensors, electronics, and cables Experience diagnosing real world failures and working with manufacturers to redesign systems for increased reliability, serviceability, and long cycle life under load Experience owning cost targets for subsystem BOMs and driving reductions through design changes that reduce part counts, assembly steps, and substitute lower cost or off the shelf parts Expertise designing for volume manufacturing, including production CNC mill and lathe, sheet metal cut, bend, and weld, and injection molding Experience running processes and creating documentation for volume manufacturing, including FMEA, DFM/A, BOMs, drawings, assembly fixtures and documentation, and test and qualification procedures Experience sourcing and vetting overseas manufacturing partners, defining acceptance criteria, and developing reliability validation plans Experience breaking executive product goals down into detailed subsystem engineering plans, and owning performance goals and deadlines from prototype through customer deployment Excellent verbal communication and writing skills, able to convey technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical teammates and document technical work thoroughly Thrives in startup environments, and can multi task and manage conflicting priorities #J-18808-Ljbffr Energize Group
